i hope tablets dont kill netbooks, theyre still useful devices to have as well, and would be even more useful if they were faster.

Well Windows 7 Starter Netbooks are definitely going to get faster (I'm looking forward to AMD Ontario), but at what point does an ARM Tablet with a keyboard begin to compete in this category?

Tablet with slide out or detachable keyboard vs. Windows Netbook? Which one will win the battle of form factor, performance, user interface, battery life, and utility?

Tristicus: "When Samsung makes a badass system like the PS3, a TV better than Sony, and a laptop better than Sony, contact me. Until then, spout ignorance elsewhere."

They've been doing the second for a while now, probably don't care about the first (just like everyone else with a real gaming pulse...pc ftw), and don't need the third. Sony's fine, don't get me wrong, but it's no Samsung.

Really, in the end, I doubt a couple of the largest electronics corporations on the market really care whether the nit-pickers on AT who are ready to quibble with anyone over the smallest thing think one or the other is better. Buy the best product for your money, and who cares whether it's Sony, Samsung, Apple (small shudder), Microsoft, Panasonic, or Vizio (bigger shudder, and I just threw up a little in my mouth).

Really? Did you know that ALL Sony camcorders are shiite? I went through 3 Sony camcorders and they all broke down on me within a year, especially while overseas in dusty places. My repairman told me why I buy Sony camcorders, told me to buy Samsung or Panasonic, then he went to show me a whole array of dead Sonys in his repair table and told me that he has yet to see a Panasonic camcorder in his shop. That was in 2001, I bought a Panasonic camcorder and after 10 years of use it's still going and never had to go back to my repairman, how do you explain that?

and i've never had a Sony product break on me. We all have different experiences and all manufacturers have lemons. From my 8 yr old Sony vaio, to my 12 yr old Sony Trinitron, still use them, they still work. i even have a 2 Sony remotes, HDTV, PS3, bookshelf stereo/speakers, watch, car head unit and couple others i know but cant think of right now.

Similarly, i went through 3 different model Gigabyte mobo's each lasting no longer than 8 months...does that mean Gigabyte is bad? Obviously not cause many people used them for years...electronics are just funny like that.

If I did want a tablet PC, I'd probably go with a Tab right now as it's loaded with features. However, I still see tablets as a gimmick that will fade out as people get bored with them. However, if they got to netbook pricing levels ($200-350) for a quality tablet I'd be a lot more interested.

Oh, and both my Samsung electronics and my Sony electronics work great. ;) (Samsung: TV, DVD recorder; Sony: launch PS2, launch PS3). The PS2 was even my main DVD player in college and it's only getting flaky now.

I was at an AT&T store yesterday and played with one. Its not a bad device. I like the form factor. There are definitely things in the OS you can tell aren't designed for tablets - the Android Market being one, so much wasted space when things get blown up - but it did seem to work nice and smooth.

I still won't be buying one, but hey.

Haha I use work with them and sell them every day. Thanks for the laugh.

And I've sent my PS3 off to Sony to get it repaired. Electronics fail once in a while. Name one that hasn't. Makes no difference how good the system is.

Go look at a Sony TV. Now look at a Samsung. See the difference? I do. That is my proof. You never gave a page that said anything, so I have no need to. Prove me wrong.

It's called opinion, and I could say a piece of shit looked better than your car and you couldn't prove I was "wrong".

Your panties were bunched before you even commented in the thread apparently, expressing your hate for Sony products in a thread about the Samsung tablets. Pot, meet kettle.

I used to sell computers and Sony laptops were by far the worst of the bunch. So much so we had to stop selling the ones we had in stock. When we got them in for repair, we had to call Sony to get authorization to work on the unit as they would re-imburse us. They eventually said do the work, then would never pay up.

I've had people with 6 month old Sony's try to get warranty work for a bad motherboard and Sony said they would only cover half the cost of the replacement motherboard they were selling to us. They wouldn't even ship one to replace it. We started turning away Sony repairs.
Oh the units we stopped selling because Sony told us to because there was a known defect, they never re-imbursed us for them. Ended up selling $2500 laptops, 2.5 years later for $200 each to get some money back out of them.

Your comment about TV's is a joke. Some people will think one image is better than another. Personally, I think the Samsung TV's look better than Sony TVs. It's all personal preference.

This thread has already been derailed enough without you gate crashing.

The next person that mentions Sony in this thread, unless it is about a never announced tablet they are releasing, is getting points
