Go look at a Sony TV. Now look at a Samsung. See the difference? I do. That is my proof. You never gave a page that said anything, so I have no need to. Prove me wrong.
Purely anecdotal evidence as you yourself will note. I've done the eyeball test myself and I'd have to say that considering the price ranges of both companies, their products are roughly equal.
I have looked through mags that specialize in testing HDTV's and in general, Samsungs come out roughly equal to Sonys. And these guys use not just eyeball tests but equipment used to check the color reproduction and all of that fancy nonsense.
It's called opinion, and I could say a piece of shit looked better than your car and you couldn't prove I was "wrong".
True. But that's what all of that fancy schmancy equipment that people who specialize in testing audio and video equipment is for and again, in general, Samsungs are the equal of Sony.
Your panties were bunched before you even commented in the thread apparently, expressing your hate for Sony products in a thread about the Samsung tablets. Pot, meet kettle.
LoL. Ok. Man, I didn't even name one person when I made the Sony comment. Was it out of line a bit? Perhaps. But again, I didn't name one single person. Look how many came out of the woodworks and felt offended. Look how many refuted my comments with nothing but anecdotal evidence to back it up.
To be honest, I was aiming more towards Joe Consumer who in general doesn't research a single thing but buys certain products due to hype or because of past reputation. There's a lot of folks who buy Sony only because it's Sony and Sony was arguably the premiere electronics company in the 80's and maybe early 90's.
I happen to own a few Sony products (expensive ones at that and a Sony HDTV) but I carefully choose and research what I buy. I have no bias. I will buy Sony again. But I carefully research what I buy. To me, Sony is long past being the best. Samsung is equal to Sony and the only reason Sony still has products like the PS3 is due to the high cost and risk of being a video console producer. Just ask Microsoft.
About one of the last areas where Sony is better than Samsung in markets they compete in is cameras. And that's both still pictures and moving. But don't try to make me believe due to your eyeball tests that a Sony HDTV is better than a Samsung. I've personally went and looked in Best Buys and Crutchfield as well as read reviews in audio video mags and the Samsung in the same price range as a Sony is roughly equal. Obviously every year is different as new models get released and there will be times when Sony trumps Samsung but the opposite is true as well.
Bottom line is Sony is no longer the company it once was. Samsung is largely equal with Sony.
