I have been using the Samsung Allshare application for a month or so, and overall I am pretty happy with it. My wife and I love being able to watch old videos of the kids by simply pressing a few buttons on the remote.
Happy until yesterday, that is, because for some reason, I decided to look in the help menu. It was there I discovered that the program insists you turn off any firewalls, as the program will not work correctly with them on.
Now, I have not had any issues as of yet, (that I know of) but I am concerned that I am watching my own home movies wide open for all to see.
I am wondering if it will still function if I can block it inside the windows firewall app. I only use it to send information from the desktop to the blu-ray player through the router, so outside connectivity should not even be needed.
Anybody have other recommendations? Should I go to another program? We are getting spoiled being able to listen to music and watch videos so easily, but I don't want to do so at the cost of security.
