Sprint PCS pulled them because someone released instructions on turning your Vision phone into a highspeed wireless modem, and people were using their $10/month unlimited Vision with this and Sprint didn't like the 'leeching'. You can get cables at RadioShack from what I hear...they partnered with another company to provide 3rd party cables.
Cables can do the same thing...visit the forums here for more information...Originally posted by: Greyd

Sooo...these cables from radio shack can do the same thing? Or is the highspeed internet now unavailable? Is it software specific?
Yes, as long as its considered a PCS Vision phone then it is 144k capable, however the so-called 'Sprint experts' in the Vision forums say most phones are only running at half their rated speed for some reason (I think because not all Sprint nodes run at 144k or because Sprint has some 'bandwidth throttling' on for some reason.) Some have entered their phone's firmware menu and found an option to set the data rate at 'half', 'full' or 'auto', with half being the default for these phones!Originally posted by: NutBucket
FutureDial now makes/markets the data cables for Sprint phones. And the 128k speeds are attainable. The 70k range is what most people experience, however. I've never done better then 60k at home, but I don't have a clear signal.
And for the phone upgrade thing, All Sprint handsets are capable of 1xRTT, or 144k at the current time provided they are indeed 3G capable.
