I just found out about this...I wanted to get either a 906bw or a 226bw, but this panel issue is bugging me--I don't want an inferior A, C, or D panel, how can I be sure I get a quality monitor?

If there is no real way to be 100% sure, what other monitors can you recommend for about $270 and below?

After calibration/color profiles, the other panels really aren't inferior.

Other panels can have response time issues, so avoid 226BW and get something you can trust like the ViewSonic VX2255wmb, LG L226WTQ, or HP w2207.

DO NOT get the 226CW. It is said to have horrible input lag. It seems as though nobody here knows that the Samsung 2232BW is replacing the 226BW. 226BW is no longer being made. If you check Best Buys site you will find the new 2232BW. It is a redesigned 226BW with a garuanteed Samsung S panel at least for now. If demand gets to high perhaps they'll have to use other panels again. I'd highly recommend that.

Yep, there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the other panels.

Well, according to Digital Versus website I've got a Samsung "S" panel. But I think the contrast is not so good. Could someone please tell me which tools did you use to calibrate? Thank you.
