I chose the LG VX10 over the Samsung A310.... I have to say I am not quite happy with the LG VX10's audio......... Do you think or know the A310 has better audio? I don't care about bells and whistles... just reception and quality of audio.... I have 15 days from yesterday to return the phone for a new one.

Thank You! I need you help.

PS reviews would be good to! I haven't found howard forums too helpful.

i got the a310 from radioshack for $99 1yr contract(duno if the deal is still on)

pros: beautiful phone, color leds, has basic features, browsing capabilities(though i dont use it)

cons: no simultaneous ring and vibrate, low volume ringers, no standard tones(just melodies)

What are you comparing audio quality to? You won't get land line quality in a cell phone. Cell companies compress the signal a lot, so quality is not dependant completely upon the phone.

In terms of reception, you probably made the right choice, because a common compliant about samsung phones in general is about reception and dropped calls.

My cousin says his Samsung phone is the worst he's ever had for reception. He hates it. It's with Sprint, and yes, that's part of his problem, but when I force my Verizon LG-TM510 to use Sprint PCS (MENU, 3, 0, 000000, 7, select "PCS only"), my phone, showing only 1-2 bars on the signal meter, didn't drop a call from his apartment, while his does regularly. I'm not a fan of the way he sounds when he calls me, but hey, it's a cell phone.

EDIT: his phone is the Smasung SCH-A460.

well I would go back and recheck out the A310 and the Moto T720 before you 14 days are up with Verizon exchange

my sister has the A310 and its a rather sweet phone. I think its more of a girly phone. When I was picking up my Moto T720 my one of my sales representives compared which phone she liked better T720 or A310, she chose the A310, she said it had a more girly vibe to it. Here is what I think Has a pretty cool blue azure screen. The keypad is very nice. It also has OK games, decent screensaver back grounds, a very cool LCD screen that changes color in the front, and pretty good web capabilities. I do like how you can change the front cover, go for the carbon fiber weave and electric blue shock front plates if you decide that. Talk time is ok. You can get around 2 days out of it and then need a recharge. Also has some nice animations on the front LCD. The ringers suck, seriously suck. She gets great reception from the phone, and the build quality is top notch.

If I were you, I would also check out the Motorola T720. Its a little more, but I think its probably one of the coolest phones out there for Verizon. You get a 4k color screen very very nice. Nice front LCD in blue-white. Blue-white backlit buttons very cool. Better ringers than the A310, you also get a pretty nifty ringer with a chicks voice, heh. I have some software were you can use RTTL files as well, right now I have the StarWars Imperial March as my main ringer. Great web ability. No games though, and brew doesnt have any good ones yet (some software issue, going to be fixed next week with a flash). It also good phone book storage, decent day book, and some other cool stuff. Bad thing so far is the battery life (1 day and needs a recharge), older Wap browser. Other than that this phone realy owns. It also has the ability to change front covers, so I purchases the carbon fiber wear and fade effect paint (Razor). Get the razor plate its very nice and slick. I have had many compliments on my new phone. My reception on the phone is also excellent, but the build quality is kinda shady. Make sure you check a few of them before picking one. My first one had an issue with a squeaky hinge, so I got it exhanged for one that doesnt squeak.

If you don't care about the features of the Motorola T720, how about the new version of the V60, the V60i. My boss has a V60i and he likes it. It still sounds like a cell phone when he call the shop using it, but I doubt that you will find a cell phone that doesn't have that cell phone sound to it. The V60 gets all the love on Epinions. BTW, check out Epinions for reviews ;) (is that what you were looking for?)

<----Info from a new verizon customer: Get the t720 and an extra $38 battery

Samsung A310: No actual "rings" only polyphonic music crap... and NO way to add tones in the future :(..pisses me off because I wanted that one.

Motorola: Verizon stores have an offer where they give you $100 back when you mail in your old phone.

Plus it actually has a nice big screen + ACTUAL RINGS!!!:D ....for $200
