Samsung 997DF problem

has anyone had this same problem (or one similar)?

not doing anything, minimum programs running, the display (from it's set size) will resize itself another 5cm inwards on all corners. then, as if some response flaw, will resize itself back to my setting. without doing anything it does this. it's like it's trying to size the viewable size to some preset setting not of my manual proportions.

don't know how much better to explain it

wow thats weird. can't help u on that one, but my old lcd (in my sister's room now) did something similar where it moved the image up about 1 cm cutting off the top of the display.

yea, sometimes after a reboot it moves my display around so that some sides are out of viewbale range, or it's resized to that of a 17". pissing me off, ya'know

just 5 minutes ago, the display got really bad. no longer a simple resize, but full fledged seisure-type shaking. thought it was too close to my case (perhaps emf interference like when you have a deskfan next to your monitor) but it just kept shaking. RMAing it in the morning. just letting people know in case they want to get this monitor.
happy with it, however, and will hope for a good one next time around

My 793DF resizes itself every time I open or minimize or maximize a window, but its only a a fraction of a centimeter. Still noticable though.

I had a noname 17" monitor that did that, it just kept degrading, both in frequency and severity until it became unusable. Ironically I replaced it with a 997DF and works fine.

I still have a 955df, I bought it several years ago; when I first bought it I also had to RMA mine due to bad color and distortion. The second unit was perfect however. I still use it 4 years later. Give the second one a chance.

I once had a 957DF, but it died. It wouldn't turn on unless you held down the monitor's power button. Samsung took it back, and gave me a 997MB.
