Question Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink in Asus B550-E motherboard

The 1TB Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink is cheaper than the one without. The Asus B550-E already has an M.2 heatsink. Do you have to remove the stock one before inserting the SSD or can both be used together?

You would need to either remove the heatsink from the 980 to use the one from the mobo, or use the 980 heatsink and leave the one from the mobo off. You can not use both together.

I think it's better if you keep the original heatsink. If you prefer the aesthetics of your mobo heatsink, you can remove the original one and it should be good enough anyway. In some cases, you won't be able to use the original heatsink from the ssd anyway because of the graphics card.
