Whats the general consensus on the Samsung 971p?
My beloved CRT is starting to give up the ghost and I am looking to get (reluctantly) an LCD to replace it. The thing is that it seems that different LCDs are geared for different uses, office, multimedia, gaming, etc..
Heres a short list of the things I regularly use my computer for:
Desktop publishing and graphic design*
3D modeling and CAD
Gaming**
Text, word processing, net surfing, etc
Video editing and DVD authoring
Video and Movie viewing***
* Ive basically become a small scale graphic artist and print shop, so color is important
** 2d, 3d, just about every genre, and from somewhat recent to 10 year old 640x480 res classics
*** although I use my TV for anything I have on DVD, I got a ton of stuff on my hard drive
So as you can see, I demand a lot from my monitor.
After days of researching, studying and comparing LCDs I think I've narrowed it down to the Samsung 971p, but I would like a second opinion.
