Samsung 955DF CRT... vibrating in lower left corner.

For some reason, this starts up from time to time... i've fixed it by just fiddeling with it before. However, I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on a perminate fix for this...

Whenever I have my monitor set to 75Hz refresh rate for the past few days, I get a rapid vibration in the lower left corner of the screen. I used to think it was magnetic interference, but I've moved all my monitors away and there is nothing in that direction that should be effecting the monitor. Not ot mention, the vibration goes away when I reduce the refresh rate of the monitor down to 60Hz within windows XP. Now, my problem is that running at 60Hz gives me migranes.(Literally) When I change the monitor to an odd aspect ratio(not 1280x1024 or 1024x768) the flickering seems to go away even at 75Hz. However, in my normal resolution of 1280x1024 the flickering is present at 70, 72, and 75Hz. I've changed out the power cord on the monitor, reinstalled the monitor's drivers in XP. Hopefully SOMEONE has an answer! Thank you in advance!

p.s. yes I've degaused recently.

same thing just happened to my 997df at 75hz at 1600x1200.

don't know whats going on, but i'm RMAing it just in case

well my current solution is to put it in 1280x800 with 85Hz and then just stretch out the screen. Quite annoying. Previously if I set it to one of the odd aspect ratios, and played like that for a few days then changed back it would fix itself. I don't know whats up with it. Though, I have had this monitor for going on 6 years. Maybe it is time to give up the ghost... I certainly would like to have something lighter that takes up less space on my desk. However, The flat screen and decent clarity of this one are hard to give up.

Check whether you have a transformer near the monitor, or behind it. Power bricks, charger units, speakers (!), peripherals with integrated power supplies, all that stuff.

When you've done all that, it might indeed be a faulty monitor.

One thing to consider also is that 75Hz actually sucks very badly! The experts will say that >72Hz is flicker free but in my experience with many many CRTs, do not, under any circumstance, go under 80Hz, if you have sensitive eyes!!!!! Your refresh rate is the problem. And, some monitors display that same refresh rate better than others at different resolutions. In other words, 1024X768 75Hz may look better or worse than 1600X1200 75Hz, depending on the "quirks" of your monitor. And, yes, ALL monitors have very subtle differences amongst the same model monitor, so keep that in mind. I highly recommend an upgrade, which is very cheap for CRT's now-a-days!!! One more VERY important thing to think about as well... Windows XP often forces monitors to run at 60Hz, no matter what you set it to. You may want to consider downloading refreshlock to ensure the Refresh that you are setting your monitor too, is the one you are actually getting!!!

Oh, BTW, 1280X800 looks bad... Don't use it, the ratio is bad for most stuff!!!! Good luck!!!
