Samsung 955DF...are there two different models?

My dad has one that uses a cd tray type to get to the monitor adjustment controls.
The one that I just got just has the controls out on the front and the monitor edges around the screen are thinner.

why the difference?
 
It is very common in the industry to change features without changing model numbers. Often companies with large volume products will have two or three manufactures making the same or similar unit, If one manufacture cannot meet demand they source from the second or third one.
 
Yeah, there are two different models. Kind of misleading, they should have made at least one a different letter like 955DF-B. Anyway one has a tray that pops out, and the other just has buttons on the front.

is one model newer than the other?

the one with the buttons out front have this Highlight feature that isnt on the tray one.
