There have been many posts for people interested in seeking a good 19" monitor for under $300 bucks. The most common names were the Samsung 950p and Samsung 955df. I'm just here to post what my opinions are on both.
I purchased the 950p for myself for $290 [onvia] and my brother found a deal for the 955df for $240 from amazon [using coupon]. I thought he had the advantage for saving 50 bucks and having a flat screen monitor. I was wrong. The 955df just came in today and when I turned it on, I was disappointed on the display. The colors were not rich and sharp as my 950p and if you look closely, you can see vertical lines. Could it possibly be that this monitor is somewhat defective? I doubt it because it's not such a major flaw that you notice right away. [i'm at a 1280x1024 resolution by the way]. Also somethign I don't like about the 955df is that it seems like the display is about 1cm behind the glass. Maybe it's like that for other flat screen monitors, but I don't know.
Well for people that can't decide on which monitor to get, I'd definitely recommend the 950p because it's truly a great monitor for a great price.
I'll probably get a few bad comments on what I've just said but I'd like to hear some because maybe my monitor actually turns out to be defective.
