Samsung 940b vs. ViewSonic VX922

I currently still have my 19 in. Samsung CRT, which in all honesty has treated me nicely. But, I'm a college student and won't be bringing it back to my fraternity house. I've narrowed my selection down to these two screens but need help figuring out which one is the "best" for me.

As I see it, the benefits to the ViewSonic is that it has a very fast (2ms) refresh and is the best for "gaming". I don't do much gaming (at least not FPS) anymore, but would like it to perform whenever I want to break a game out or if I should get more into gaming sometime in the future. Also, apparently you can plug multiple devices into the monitor (one on DVI, one on analog) and change with the press of a button, which would be nice if I had a server in the future, or if I wanted to use it with my laptop and tower right now, and switch back in forth (please let me know if this is a "standard" functionality of monitors).

As for the Samsung...I really like the way it looks. Granted, I've never seen either of these two monitors in person, but the Samsung reminds me of the Sony that my roommate has and it looks pretty sharp. I'm just not so certain about the looks of the Silver/Black ViewSonic, although if you guys think it looks good in person please let me know.

Anyways, I need a monitor that I can do a little of everything with. While I love dual-displays, I suppose I won't be a getting a second of any monitor I get right now due to limited deskspace (maybe after college...at which time I'll probably want two new monitors).

Both are about the same price (when factoring the cost of a DVI cable with the Samsung). What do you guys prefer. I'm particularly worried about viewing angle and video playback. I'd assume that they have similar viewing angles since they use the same panel, but I've heard mixed reviews on both these displays.

Tom's Hardware gives the Viewsonic an "A Class" whereas Cnet gives it a 6.4

Argh...What do you guys recommend. I suppose customer support is also something I should probably take into consideration, if my monitor were to crap out...

Thanks in advance.

Any Advice? The LCD Guide (sticky) says that the Samsung is #4 overall, #3 gaming, and the Viewsonic is #2 gaming.

I'd like to lean towards the Samsung, given that I think I like the asthetics better, but am mainly concerned about video output, viewing angles and possible ghosting on the Samsung 940b.

However, since I'm paying the same price for them I definately want to make sure I'm getting the right one. The dual-inputs (being able to switch easily) on the Viewsonic only adds more burden to the decision.

Thanks for the advice...i really appreciate it.

I've been waiting for more than 1.5 years for the right combination of speed and contrast. Yesterday, after reading TsH review on the VX922, my mind was satisfied. I'll be ordering the VX922 as soon as my wife turns her head.
