wow thanks Samsung 🙂
So far I like this monitor, but as
I said I haven't tested it into its
full capability yet.
I'm still waiting for the last
puzzle of my new pc, asus a7v 🙂
Once I got my new pc assembled, I'll
run some of my graphics program, then
I can judge how this monitor stands
to the high end SGI I have
in my office.

Oh btw, the Samsung 900NF is in fact flatter
than the Sony G400 (FD Trinitron), check my
previous message that show the FD Trinitron
tube is actually curvy along the horizontal.
The tube that this Samsung use is pure flat,
yes you got it ..PURE FLAT...no curve at all..

Arggh speaking of the sony g400, i keep seeing lines that tend to curve up towards the upper left hand corner. Now it's probably just me and my eyes, but hey, that's what the most important thing in the world. If it looks fine to me and wrong to everyone else, i don't care, hahaha.

Most all flatscreen monitors have that problem with horizontal lines in webpages that curve upward toward the left edge of the screen. For some people including myself, this can drive you nuts.

I noticed it right away when my new Samsung 900NF monitor arrived. I tried fixing it via the on-screen controls but it was a no go. Only settings for vertical pincussion existed 🙁

I originally thought I had a defective monitor and I sent the monitor back for a replacement. The replacement had the exact same problem. I contacted Samsung and they said it's normal for a flat screen monitor to have horizontal pincussion effects as such on the Samsung 900NF. Every Samsung 900NF monitor that I have seen had this problem. Some may not be bothered by it, some will.

It's most noticable on webpages that have graphics with horizontal frames or anything like that. If you follow the line with your eye across the screen it will bow down then return to normal towards the left edge of the screen. Just thought I'd warn you.

According to a tech at Onvia, many people return their flatscreen monitor thinking they have a defective monitor because of this "bowing". But this is actually normal according to Samsung.

yes this bowing effect is normal...
it is exist in all flat screen, as flat
screen technology is not perfected yet
(so flat screen from Viewsonic, Sony, Samsung,
Mitsubishi, all have this kind of effect).

I haven't noticed it in my Samsung though,
maybe if I bump up the resolution, I'll
get this defect.

Rudee: Thanks for the info man. You don't know how it feels to know that i am not the only one with the problem. i have been talking to some people at arstechnica's forum who also have this problem too i think.
