I just got my samsung 900NF and it's great but I'm having trouble adjusting the settings on the upper left corner of the monitor. The text seems to be a little blurry. I tried playing with the focus settings but I cant seem to get it to look any better. I'm running the monitor 1280 x 1024 @ 85hz and the blurriness happens at the other resolutions too. Anybody out there that can give me some tips on how I can fix the fuzzy text?

Best to set it to factory settings and then just maximize the size so you don't get the black border. I have found that at 1280x1024 it looks much better at 90Hz than 85Hz.

I have a TNT2 ultra, it doesnt seem to let me go higher than 85hz. Is this a video card limitation? or do i have to change something in windows to let me go higher than 85?

I tried using purity, it didnt seem to make it much better, is there a certain combination of purity and focus that I should have?

I have it 95 on top left...6 on top right...95 on bottom left...6 on bottom right
I don't know if that helps you any...but that setting cleared the corners up real well for me...and I'm using a TNT2 Ultra also ...but with BNC cables which helped clarify the screen a little.....Just try out all the settings...took me a couple of days to get it "right" . I bought mine back in summer and haven't touched the settings because they are hard to adjust since there are no factory settings

I use a Readeon DDR here.

The TNT2 Ultra's RAMDAC can't do more than 85Hz then it seems. Forget I said that then, until you get a newer card you can keep wishing it would go higher. Try the purity setting indeed.

I have mine:

top left = 60
top right = 50
bottom left = 50
bottom right = 60

This screen is excellent so don't worry. Once you focus it properly you'll know what I mean.

Play with the purity as others have said but try the convergence setting too. The monitor should not be blurry at that resolution/refresh rate. Is it blurry at a lower resolution?

I suspect it could be your video card.

Thanks for your help everyone, I've been messing with this thing so much sometimes I'm not sure if it's blurry or not hehe. The blurriness occurs at lower resolutions too, but you cant really see it as well. Overall the blurriness of the text is very faint, becuase the "average" user doesnt even know it's there. I asked my roommates and they didnt see anything. I'll keep trying. To be continued....

I know it must be annoying you but trust me, once you have it tuned in perfect you'll know. This monitor is no cheap monitor, it produces excellent lines and colors. Stay calm, the other thing to try is your graphics card drivers, they may affect 2D quality also.

And if you still can't get it then for best 2D quality you need a:

- Matrox card
- ATI card

They offer the best in 2D.
