Discussion Samsung 870 EVOs want a firmware update.

You can Google the firmware revision, and you should be able to see the details on Samsung's website.

Your choice not to install it, but the updates almost always fix issues, so IMO not a wise decision to blindly skip it.

Finally decided to bite the update.

Each drive wanted to update individually with a restart between.

The Magician wanted to update ... twice.

They seemed to go OK and then wanted another Windows restart.

C: booted OK, but ... major panic heart rate escalation .... No E: drive. No access. Not found in File Explorer. Not even in Magician where it appeared fine just moments before after the firmware updates. With few other options and hoping may last backup was good, I tried one last restart.

Relief. All is well.

No idea what happened.
