SAMSUNG 850 PRO 512 Firmware - EXM03B6Q

Hi All:

I decided to check on Magician and there was a firmware update notice, EXM03B6Q is available, if I can figure out how to attach the screenshot without going to a image site, I'll post it later.

I can't find any reviews on this new firmware, it is not on Samsung's SSD site, nothing on Google except for some sites not in English.
Does anyone have any info? I heard horror stories about updating firmware causing your SSD to brick. Nothing wrong with mine but I'm curious.

I don't see anything when I google it and I'm seeing the same update for my 256gb drive. My drive is also running fine and I'd love to see a synopsis of the changes.

Edit: I just flashed to it which took about 5 seconds and a reboot which went just fine.

Updated through Magician 4.9.7, no issues.

The 850 PRo always supported TCG/Opal.

Could anyone please report issues if you come across any with this 03 fw, pls?

Also, pls (while it may work ok) don't risk upgrading fw thru Magician desktop utility. Being aware of the risk, Samsung even made this simple guide on how to do it properly in the preboot environment - http://www.samsung.com/global/busin...rmware_Update_Utility_User_Manual_English.pdf

And some info - I could not dl the fw from here - http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/850pro.html but just managed to dl it from here - http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools.html (with the actual dl link being - http://ssd.samsungsemi.com/ecomobile/ssd/update12.do?fname=/Samsung_SSD_850_PRO_EXM03B6Q_Win.iso) Hope that helps you guys, but if anyone experienced issues pls report. So far I heard only that Dell ppl are happy with it and that's all.

I've not been able to find an extensive and thorough change log from Samsung. If anyone has found it - pls share!

For the record - I'm with the 850 Pro 256GB, not 512 but shouldn't matter much.
