I'm looking to buy my first SSD. I will use it as my main drive, I can't afford both an SSD and a HD, but capacity is not that much of an issue because I don't store a lot of files. I will only use it for Windows, basic apps like Office and media players and Steam with 2 or 3 games max.

I can only get one of those 3 mentioned in the title. I know the Samsung is a lot better than the other 2 in performance/reliabilty but since I don't know much about SSDs I wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks

All three are likely to be adequate.

240GB > 120GB. (Especially since you can't afford a data HDD.)

I would definitely move up to a 240/250 GB drive. Looking at Newegg, the 250GB 850 EVO is only about $12 more than the 120 GB. Even if you don't think you'll fill up a 120, the extra space of a 250 will come in handy. Better to have the space and not need it and not the other way around.

I have a 250 GB 850 EVO in 3 systems, 2 as the OS drive and one is a Steam drive. I can't really give much detailed impressions of them though since one OS drive just got installed today and the other has only been up for a little over a month, and the Steam drive doesn't get written to very often so it's not really being pushed.

over the time i purchased over 15 ssds, 32gb, 64, 128, 256, 480/512 sure my extreme pro is a bit faster than say my crucial m4, but overall, all of them have been relaible and superfast.

So my advice is grab a 240/256gbs for the best price in the mid range category, like crucial bx/mx
