Samsung 840 Pro - Poor Performance?

I bought a Samsung 840 Pro as part of my computer build back in the winter of 2013. Fast forward to today, I turned off RAPID mode to do a benchmark and the IOPS scores seem low. Admittedly, I'm not sure if I remember what the brand new scores looked like. Maybe these are fine.

The drive's Health Status is "Good", Total Bytes Written is 5 TB. Free space 132 GB. Used space 82GB.

Here is a screenshot of the benchmark.

Using Magician, do a Performance Optimization and bench it again. FWIW, my 840Pro will show some odd results once in a while, and I'll come back in a few weeks and it will bench fine. Meh...

Running the optimization didn't improve the IOPS scores at all.

Magician also won't let me re-enable RAPID! Something to do with an unrecognized OS. Lame.

I ran RABID for a while, I found the only real benefit was in benchmarks... not really in real-world use... so I discontinued it. I wouldn't get too excited about it.

Are you in Windows 10? Rapid mode doesn't support Windows 10 yet.

Do you have Overprovisioning set? I've noticed enabling it increases the RANDOM numbers.

Is alignment correct ?

Did you install Intel ahci drivers ?

Write caching is enabled in Device manager ?

Good question. I would leave that off, The AHCI drivers you already have them,, what OS you on.

leave to its default in the write caching

If its on leave it on., For some its off or latter
