I tried the SSD in an external enclosure and it said the same thing as it did when it was in my laptop using the SATA cable. So it being the cable is not true.

Any help? Laptop started being really slow the last few days so I started looking into it.

Is my drive dying?

It's a year old.

Try removing your drive from the notebook and refitting it again, then check if CRC errors keep increasing (they won't go back to zero, what matters is their increase over time). The SSD might have become a little loose in the connector for some reason.

What does the magician software say about the drive health? Mine died over a week ago without any warning and it had started slowing down but magician said it was in good health. Then the controller froze up without any warning and it took over a week for me to get a rma from Samsung so I could send it in.

Nothing strange in Magician, it says the drive is fine. It is constantly freezing my computer so I know that is not true.

Trying to rma with Samsung now

So, did the value of CRC Error count increase while it was attached in the external enclosure? If not, you will have the same problem with any other SSD on your internal SATA port. The value will not decrease or be reset. It just should not increase any more.
Have you tried Crystal Disk Info? It is the C7 value an the raw value is the counter.
