LOL, Ok, sounds good to me. I thought that you maybe couldn't see any or much improvement with an SSD.

No I am loving it! Can't believe I never had one of these things before. I always thought it was Empty Hype but no its not the deal at all. Thing is amazing. I boot into windows in like 13 or 15 seconds (Not sure 100% but its fast)
Also my game performance has improved believe it or not. In games like Rust on my HDD before I would get severe stutters, never knew what it was. Well after running Rust on my SSD I noticed the issue almost never happens now. Love it.

Can't wait for my 500GB To get here.

Once you start using SSDs you will never go back to spinners other then for backups.

250GB is a little small in 2018, are you sure that is all you need?

the size isnt the biggest issue the speed from drives smaller than 500gb seem to drop as well. But i dont think a SSD is NEEDED, can always raid a few spinners and get decent performance.

A single suitable sized SSD has far fewer issues then RAIDing some spinners, and can offer better performance on top off that.

sorry i guess you missed the word needed, you can use a single spinner as well. imo its not NEEDED, only desired. spinning laptops still read decently fast, i can wait 20 seconds compared to 7 to startup the pc. 120-140mbps seems fine, sure ssd will be faster but what are you doing that is so important it is NEEDED.

Have you actually used an SSD before? Once you go SSD, The only use you have for spinners is for backups.

you joking good buddy? your whole network is on SSD? must have a low capacity or a insane amount of ports. 2x12tb spinners is 2 ports, 6 ports with ssd, 3x less free ports for 4x the cost!

i use both daily with wide ranges of 950pro to a intel 160gb. But at work i use desktops with 500gb 2.5" hd, the pc's dont get turned off and load everything just fine with 8gb ram. Do i care? nope, either way i get paid, and all work can be completed.

If i needed faster storage i could always use the network attached storage but i never choose to.

Maybe you can say graphics design might HELP with a SSD or 4 powering it, but its not needed and the job will get done eventually.

i believe i have been using SSD's (first one i purchased was the intel x25-m) its still running strong after 9 years in a laptop i gave away 8 years ago You never answered what task you are performing that it is needed in such a big way? Im not sure how much it would help for loading large multiplayer maps in online gaming.

I have a couple of Samsung 850 Evo's. I just installed a Crucial BX300 on my main rig because I am retiring it to the garage soon. The Evo is slightly better but the BX300 is pretty close in performance. I went from 500GB to a 240GB boot drive with MLC memory vs. TLC memory in the 850 evo.
