Anyone know if I can to a bit-for-bit transfer from a larger drive? Laptop has a 250GB mechanical drive, if I'm only using 100GB for OS/apps, can I transfer that over directly to this 128GB drive?

Code didn't work. Oh well I already have one of these. Great price for a great drive. I get 500 MB/s Read and 320 MB/s Write speeds on my AMD motherboard.

Added it to the shopping cart, entered the promo code, clicked "Checkout" and I was informed the drive was sold out.

Can you tell us what is that appropriate software? Acronis, Paragon and Ghost can do sector-by-section image of a HD (to work around the encrypted HD I think) but non of those software specifically state that it can put that image on a smaller SSD.

Thanks

Ya, all I've seen are programs where you have to resize the partition of the larger drive (using GParted). I'm hoping there's a way to do that now without having to do that step.

Man, I picked up a Mushkin a month ago and thought it was a good deal. The prices of SSD are finally starting to come down.

I believe Macrium Reflect Free will clone to a smaller drive as long as the data will fit ..

If not, you can use Windows disk management to shrink the partition ..

edit: I can confirm that Macrium will clone a larger drive to a smaller one as long as the data will fit on the smaller drive.
