Samsung 753df refresh rate

I'm trying to convince my friend that that's no way his Old 17" Samsung 753df can support 120 Hz at 1280x1024. According to his display settings he is running at 120 Hz right now, but I'm thinking it's REALLY running at 65 Hz (the maximum supported refresh rate at that res according to the specs) but windows just tells him it's 120 Hz. Is there some kind of tool I can have him download that will tell him for sure what his current refresh rate is? Thanks.

Usually the monitor's OSD menu lets you check the current display mode, showing hor and ver frequencies.
