Samsung 712N w/ 12ms response time, replaced 712X?

Last June Kristopher Kubicki did a review at Anandtech about the Samsung 17" 712X with the 12ms response time and 6-bit panel. Does anyone have info on the 712N? Is it also a 6-bit panel?

I think you mean 172X and 172N. The 172N is the analog only version of the 172T which is the older model the 172X replaces. 25ms response time
If Samsung used the same 172N name for the analog only version of the 172X then specs should be same except no DVI.

No, 712N is right. You had me get up and check as I wasn't sure. I'll have to see if I like it with it's 6-bit panel. I was going to use it for a dual monitor setup.
