Samsung 712N LCD problem?

Hi everyone.

I just bought a Samsung 712N lcd. So far so good. No dead pixels. The only issue I have is that in the middle of the top edge and on the bottom 1/4 of the right edge of the screen, I notice light coming out of the edges. This problem only occurs when the screen is displaying black. It's not a huge amount of light seeping through but it is noticeable "brighter" at the two edges than at the center. I'm just wondering if this is normal with lcd's or if there's a way to fix it? Thanks.

I just bought this monitor today and I have the same issue. At the top and bottom it is the most noticeable, but you can also see it happening on the sides. Is this a common issue with this samsung or are we unlucky? There have to be others who have taken advantage of the recent rebates to get one and try it.

Lots of LCDs do that. My Hyundai does it a bit. So does my Apple Studio Display. Not alot, but when the screen is all black I notice it, but my screen rarely is all black for an extended period of time.

Sounds like I should try exchanging this thing if there is a chance I'll get one without this problem. I just hope they'll take it back at Best Buy.

Yea, the screen isnt perfect. My LCD 1765 looks a little bit darker in the upper left hand corner, but I doesnt bother me unless I stare at it.
