Hi, I'm thinking about buying an 17" LCD Monitor. The Samsung 710N caught my eye cause of 12ms response, 600:1 contrast, and user reviews seemed good. Plus, it's 400$ free shipping on Newegg. My question is what is the difference between the 710N and say the 710T or 710VT?

The only difference I saw between the 710N and the 710T was that the 710T is 85$ more expensive and has a dvi port, while the 710N just has your analog d-sub. I really don't think a dvi port is worth 85$ extra, so is there any other difference?

The difference between the 710N and the 710VT seems to be just that the 710VT has a built in power supply and is 50$ more expensive.

The 710T has the pivot screen feature. I'm not sure if the others have it, but it might be another reason why it's 85 dollars more. I was making the same decision a few weeks ago and I went with the 710T. You can't go wrong wrong with this baby. You'll love it, trust me.

Yeah, it looks like that is another difference. I don't think I need that feature - do you think the 710N is just as good as the 710T in all other ways? Why did you go with the 710T over the 710N? THnaks.

I chose the 710T mainly because of DVI. Based on what I've heard, there is a huge difference between analog and dvi if you compared them side by side. I'm not sure how else the two monitors might be different because I've only seen (and own) the 710T. Maybe it would be a good idea to go to best buy or circuit city to see how some of the models look in person. I don't think either carries the 710T, but I'm pretty sure they have the 710N.

If your getting the 710t, i'd suggest you get your monitor at dell.com because they sometimes have great deals on their lcd monitors and if you grab yourself a coupon, you can knock the price down a good 40-50 bucks if not more.

Newegg has a very bad dead pixel policy, i think it was 6 or 7. I would stay away from them for monitors.

thanks for your helps.

since i don't think dvi and pivot is worth the extra money, i decided to go with the 710N. I took my chances with the dead pixels and went with newegg because of the low price and free shipping.
