Bear with me here because this is going to take a little explaining. Samsung has put together an amazing 3D television package this weekend but nobody has noticed because the total price looks like a discounted price on the television alone. In contrast to most discount packages on LED televisions, this package includes current models and not last year's left overs.

The first part of the package is the Samsung UN40C7000 40" 3D LED 1080p HDTV (240Hz). This is one of the new super thin 1.0" LED Samsungs and represents the smallest size 240Hz LED HDTV Samsung makes. The TV will also stream Netflix, Blockbuster and Vudu. Read about it here:

http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN40C7000WFXZA

Best bottom line price on this television according to Price Grabber is $1,188.00.

The second part of the package is the Samsung BDC5900 3D-Ready Blu-Ray Disc Player. It's a very well-reviewed Blu-Ray player with all of the latest features including 3D. Read more about it here:

http://www.samsung.com/us/video/blu-...d/BD-C5900/XAA

Best bottom line price on this Blu-ray player according to Price Grabber is $118.88.

The third part of the package is Samsung's SSG-P2100S/ZA Shrek 3D Starter Kit which includes:
  • 2 Pairs Of Samsung - Battery-Operated 3D Glasses
  • All three released Shrek movies in 3-D, as well as a voucher for the not yet released fourth movie.
  • 3D Shutter Glasses Enable Viewer
Read more about it here:
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs-.../SSG-P2100S/ZA

Best price online according to Price Grabber is $229.

Buy.com's price for all three as a package is $1,1329.99 with free shipping:

http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=219853787

This deal cannot be beaten.

What else will you need to start watching 3D at home? Only a high-speed HDMI cable to run the 3D signal to the television. Amazon sells one for $8.99.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

If you want to add wireless networking to either the TV or the Blu-ray player, Samsung's Wireless LinkStick will run you around $50.00 online.

I've been reluctant to jump into 3D, but when they're giving you all the equipment for free if you buy a great 2D television, count me in.

Wow, seems like an awesome deal. Amazon is having a Toshiba deal too, where they are basically giving away the 3D Blu-ray player as well as two pairs of glasses and a 40" LED 3D too.

I am pretty sure the UN55C7000 was on sale for $1,350 with taxes shipping etc from CONNs a few days ago. That is the 55 inch model, it doesn't include the 3d package, but I am not sure how many people would want the 3d package over a bigger TV for almost the same price.

If you are looking for a 40" with 3d bundle this is probably the lowest price for these components though. Nice description/links though.

And FYI, Frys had/still might have the LG 55LE5400 for $1,100 and the 47 inch for $600.

LED display, Samsung at that, and 1080p 240hz.

LED means nothing other than how the LCD panel is back lit...

Samsung is actually a sh!tty company that ignores known problems with their products and steals tech from other companies

1080p is irrelavant at that display size.

and

240 hz is nothing more than a marketing gimmick

LOL.

That is all.

And let me guess, the human eye can't see more than 30fps...

LOL at your ignorance.... Not only what I mentioned, but plasma is the better platform if you have intention on using the 3D.

the costco deal for the 46" panny 3D better than this....

Go ahead and pick up the sammy deal if you think it is so good

edit:
30 fps is a mute point as most videophiles are more concerned with how a display handles 24p... and not the interpolation BS.

For the 240Hz, he's right. It's a gimmick. Infact, on some sources, it looks horrible.

Also, LED is just a different type of back lighting. Unless its a full array LED display, the difference between regular LCDs and LED LCDs is minimal.

Seems like a decent price compared to what I paid for a similar bundle. I've owned this tv about 8 months, good tv but great 1080p monitor for my htpc (especially for 3d gaming).

The latest firmware does a good job handling 24p (and yes, I like to use all that processing power this tv has under the hood to de-judder it :)).

I would take a look at the thread for this family (6500/7000/8000) at the AVS forum. You'll find overall people are satisfied with the product. The rap against the 7000 is flashlighting due to lack of local LED dimming, but I really don't notice it (but I don't operate it a full brightness).

Make sure 40" is not too small for your room however. I'm using it in a small basement room, where it is just the right size.

This.

Just because the television is only a 40-inch doesn't change the dollar value of the deal. If this was going to be your primary television, I'd recommend you look for a different deal on a bigger set (and go for a Plasma over LCD as well). If, on the other hand, you are looking for a terrific deal on a second television for a bedroom or basement with 3D capability, this deal is impossible to beat.

Ignore Zivic he is the new troll.

I'm a Samsung user for the last 3 years and my 43" 120Hz LCD has been nothing but awesome. I run Comcast and my Xbox at HD and it looks incredible. I have no problems with Samsung.

Nice review on Plasma Vs LCD and Samsung ranks at the top.
http://plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatvreviews/plasma-vs-lcd.html

so you say buy an LCD then link a review site that states the following:

Picture Quality -> ADVANTAGE: Plasma
^ that right there is all I really needed to know, but we can go further

FAST-MOVING VIDEO PLAYBACK -> ADVANTAGE: Plasma

LONGEVITY -> ADVANTAGE: Even depending upon manufacturer quality.

PRODUCTION SIZE & COST -> ADVANTAGE: Plasma.

Price and Value -> ADVANTAGE: Plasma, especially in larger size TVs.

Why again would I buy an LCD? because it consumes a little less power and is better for use as a computer monitor???

call me a troll if you like but my original statement that this is too much money for a 40" display still holds true.

Perhaps you should look at the name of the website...

Either ways, I own both a Plasma and an LCD. While I do like the Plasma better, most people will not regret buying an LCD.

Also, he never said to go ahead and buy an LCD. He just challenged your notion that Samsung stinks. Stop beating the dead high horse and that you
rode in on and take this argument to a another forum.
