Samsung 32x CD-RW Drive

Anyone have experience with this drive? I am considering getting one. Smart Computing gave it a very good review and BestBuy has it for $39.99 after MIRs. Any info appreciated.

i got the same deal and have had it for a few days now. seems to work great. no coasters and only about 5 burns so far.
i think that it's good.

Hey foofoo, a couple more questions.

Have you burned any music and did it sound OK?

Does it play well with other children (i.e. does it burn OK when you are doing other things)?

Do you know if it supports firmware upgrade? I couldn't find any firmware info on Samsung's product website.

See my comments in Hot Deals after reading some reviews that I found in a google search. Per one of the reviews, it does support firmware upgrades. I never did find out who actually makes the drive.

And another thing; in light of the reviews I have seen for this Samsung you'll need to change that 'lame' sig of yours(;-)

i did dae from a negativeland cd and the burned the audio as a test. worked great.

i was surfing and working on some word documents during all of my burns - no problems. dma is a great thing.

Do you know if it supports firmware upgrade?

dont know but i think that samsung is pretty new into the cdrw market and they havent put any out yet. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

just burned 2 more last night. no problems yet....
