I'm a relatively experienced system builder and enthusiast. Haven't posted here for a long time but I've run up against an issue I can't solve.

I have a Samsung 245BW 24 inch LCD

It will only display up to 1920x1080 in Windows Vista 64-bit not it's native 1920x1200

Nvidia 8800 GTS 320mb. Latest drivers etc. etc.

When I connect it to my macbook I can only display at 1600x1050

This is the newer unibody macbook with an nvidia 9400m

Minidisplayport to dvi

I dumped the EDID and it doesn't mention 1920x1200 anywhere

I've tried switchresx and forced it up to 1900x1080 with some odd results, but the resolution won't stick and I also can't seem to repeat it.

Customer resolutions don't work in the nvidia control panel on the PC

I'm at a total loss at this point. Is it possible to update the EDID somehow? I really want it running at the native resolution, and I definitley want it working with the mac for site building and photo editing....

I've googled the heck out of this to no avail. any advice is much appreciated.

It should work at 1920 x 1200.

Have you tried this?

Similarly it should work at 1920 x 1200 off the macbook -

Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colours
