I'm a relatively experienced system builder and enthusiast. Haven't posted here for a long time but I've run up against an issue I can't solve.
I have a Samsung 245BW 24 inch LCD
It will only display up to 1920x1080 in Windows Vista 64-bit not it's native 1920x1200
Nvidia 8800 GTS 320mb. Latest drivers etc. etc.
When I connect it to my macbook I can only display at 1600x1050
This is the newer unibody macbook with an nvidia 9400m
Minidisplayport to dvi
I dumped the EDID and it doesn't mention 1920x1200 anywhere
I've tried switchresx and forced it up to 1900x1080 with some odd results, but the resolution won't stick and I also can't seem to repeat it.
Customer resolutions don't work in the nvidia control panel on the PC
I'm at a total loss at this point. Is it possible to update the EDID somehow? I really want it running at the native resolution, and I definitley want it working with the mac for site building and photo editing....
I've googled the heck out of this to no avail. any advice is much appreciated.
