Well, I'm almost positive it's a TN panel (all of the Samsung B series have been,) so I don't imagine it compares very favorably to the 2407. That's the reason for the relatively low price...although to me it actually seems a bit high for a TN panel. To my knowledge this is the first 24" monitor to use a TN panel, although I'm not sure.

I don't believe this is a 'ripoff.' If indeed it is a TN panel (rather than S-PVA or S-IPS), then it seems to be on par with other 24" screens. If it's a S-IPS, though... :D

TN panels aren't that bad, my GF has a Westinghouse 22" and I had a Gateway 24" viewing angles on mine were better, but I sit infront of my screen as do most people so that was a moot point. Color's were pretty unaccurate on both, but most people either don't care, or can't tell. I properly calibrated TN will look fine, I went thru 2 24"'s before I realized nothing but a CRT would do it for me so I sold my 24" for $425 and bought a 21" CRT for 20 bucks.

I've seen this monitor in person I don't like it much, but then again S-IPS's ain't my cup of tea. For the price this is a decent deal, I am not sold at all about S-IPS's being that much better.

Since when did they ever start making 24'' TN panels? If it is a TN, this is pretty new, typically TN has been in 22'' substrates.

People who think that TN is as good as PVA or IPS and would shell $500+ for a TN panel in 2007 need help.
