Newegg has this w/ a $20 promo code for $150 which seems like a good price. I'm aware of the differences between TN, PVA, and IPS a bit but I don't know if this PVA in particular would be good for games. Most reviews say there's no real noticeable ghosting except for one guy, but he could have been using VGA or not.

Should I just not risk it and go for a TN panel? I'm not looking for the absolute best quality, just relatively good bang for your buck.

Response time is too slow, if you plan to play any FPS on an LCD, you need <3ms.

It's definitely c-PVA which in other panels has not been noted for improving upon S-PVA in terms of either input lag or gamma shift. But compared to a random 5ms unaccelerated TN, IQ and viewing angles are incredible - I'd say go for it. Considering you'll spend approx 200+ for a good TN panel, and it'll have the same damn resolution and probably almost as much input lag, it's worth a shot. See if you can buy on Amazon or a retail store; since Newegg's return policy is very bad.

VA panels are very nice compared to TN. The interesting thing about VA is they are at their best when viewed slightly off center so they are perhaps ideal eyefinity screens.
I'm very happy with my MVA panel, which should be older tech than this. Great for work and movies since you get the best blacks compared to other LCD technology.

Hell of a price even now. Man, I think I'm gonna sell the LG panel I have and get one of these bad boys. I hate reading text on TN screens.

It's freakin' great to finally see some competitively priced IPS and PVA panels coming into the market. It's about time! The image quality is drastically better.

You ruined my night, I just pulled the trigger and bought one with the coupon. Now to Craigslist to post the LG monitor/TV I'm using...

If by "ruined" you mean "made my night AWESOME because I'm getting a new montior!" then you're welcome :D

I'm still on the fence about this. Better color and viewing angles is nice, but this is going to be a very focused gaming machine so any ghosting would be an issue. There's a few videos on youtube which make it seem like it'll be a little too distracting to enjoy it, but I don't know. I want to save as much money on the monitor as possible, so I was hoping to stay right at or just around $200 for 23-24"

I have a 30" Samsung 305+ with a PVA panel and I don't have any issues playing FPS games.

Depends what you are coming from though.

I'm coming from a blank wall... I currently have no gaming PC. Anything better than open space will look glorious ;)

Seriously though, my gaming has been on a pretty old 32" 720p LCD on the consoles for the past few years. Just recently I swapped that with a 42" plasma. I do have a laptop but that was very rarely used for gaming and the display was definitely not intended for such things.

I currently have three 2333T's in SLI and so far I love it. I have not seen any issues yet with gaming much, although I only have FSX and sometimes COD Black OPS and Mafia 2.

I should have got something smaller cause three 23 inch displays take a lot of desk space. lol

I received my 2333T today and have it setup next to my PX2370 (TN panel), the motion isnt as smooth while gaming vs PX2370 but I knew this before ordering, Overall its still not as bad as I imagined and the picture quality is excellent, there's no black crush and white saturation is good, it also shows noticeably smoother gradients vs TN when looking at test images such as this http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php and of course being PVA the black levels are deeper.

I want to use this monitor for reading, Ms office, moderate image editing work and movies. NO gaming. I hope this is fine for my intended use.
Can somebody confirm?

Yes, it's perfect for the tasks you mentioned (or at least as perfect as an LCD can be :p).
