I came from an old 17 inch LCD. The size difference is, well, huge.
Mine has no dead pixels.
It has some pretty agressive backlight bleed at top and bottom, as many others have noted. It is not an issue unless the screen is dark, although it's irritating to know that it's there. Viewing angle must be dead-on or there are color issues. Just sitting at it normally, there's no issue.
Gaming and web surfing are great, while movie playback-- the ones I've tried anyway-- are not so great.
Color, brightness, and IQ are generally good. No real 'screen door' effect that I can see.
A good panel for gaming and web stuff.
For $400 I like mine a lot.
