samsung 216bw monitor showing many thin black streaks

argh, I hope it's not a bad monitor but I've tried both analog and dvi cables and both are showing many vertical thin black streaks going across the monitor.

any suggestions on what I can try? This is also happening on my 20" monitor as well.

I'm connecting this through my laptop's docking station.
