Hi all,

I've searched everywhere online for this, and couldn't find it. I'm specifically looking to compare the sizes of the actual LCDs of the two monitors, while all product information sites give only the entire unit dimensions. If anyone has either of these and wouldn't mind measuring the lcd height/width, I would really appreciate it.

Also, is the ~1" size difference that great between the screens? There's a significant difference when you jump from an 18" to a 20"; is there a diminishing returns effect between 20" and 21"? My boss needs text as large as possible, so if there's a significant difference I'm going to order the larger of the two.

Thanks in advance for any help,
SK

The Samsung has a slightly larger panel in it. I noticed you said you require the text to be as large as possible. If that's the case I would consider the Dell over the Samsung because the Dell scales things very well. And the text is very clear when run out of its native (1600x1200) resolution.

I haven't personally seen the Samsung 213T run at a resolution other than its native 1600x1200, I have seen other Samsung panels being run at resolutions different from their native resolutions and it was pretty ugly.

Samsung 210T here scales from 1600x1200 down to 1280x1024 pretty well.

For the biggest text get the 21" monitor and run it at 1024x768. Won't be razor sharp but as good/better than a CRT and the lower res works best for most web pages anyway.
