Samsung 21 inch LCD $549.99 at bestbuy

For $50 more, you'd be getting DVI-HDCP and component and s-video inputs with DCDi. Also, the Gateway's been available with coupons and other discounts depending on where you buy it. I was able to get it for $490 from Staples a while back. Of course, if the deals aren't available now, Best Buy might be the way to go. I ended up returning the Gateway since I had a couple of defective pixels. Samsung, on the other hand, will probably not give you any defects since they make their own panels and get their pick. I suppose you can always return/exchange at Best Buy if there are defective pixels.

This monitor has all that. and it has RCAs and a 1/8 inch jack for audio. Im going to post some pics because they got the wrong picture up on bestbuy. Its similar but Thats a 204b and its not as wide

Went to BB tonight.... Decent looking monitor, but it was hooked up poorly to 1280x1024 signal and the picture was crap. I liked that it sits on it's own circular stand that swivels. Almost got one, but the gf was like why not wait for a sale and for some reason that made sense.

i already got 21' gateways' lcd.

only downside is sometimes gateway monitor's doesnt function properly... 🙁

it freezes when there are no signals. have to unplug the power cord.

picture quality isn't that good. dcdi didnt really improved my video quality. looks all same

(i do have decent video card and 1080i dvd player. i tried everything composite to dvi..the quality wont improve with dcdi thingy!(maybe my monitor or my eyes but i really dont think there was a change))

i previously had 2 samsung lcds. both were very nice!

bump for good price!

Total comes out to 551.41 from that J&R link including UPS ground shipping and no Tax shipped to states other than NY.

Another alternative is the Dell 20.1" widescreen LCD. I just picked one up for about $385 shipped. Has DVI, VGA, s-video, and composite (yellow RCA) inputs, plus it rotates. Resolution of 1680x1050, very adjustable (tilt, swivel, etc.). No audio jacks or speakers, but it does have a 4-port USB hub which is nice.

I also own the 21" Gateway and am very happy with the image quality. My only issue is that I occasionaly seem to lose sync, and I have to restart the monitor if I want it back immediately. I suspect this may have more to do with my 25' DVI cable (copper) than the monitor, though.

I got one when it 1st came out and I still like it alot. The main difference is that the SS is 1" bigger, is 8ms, is much better for movies, etc., and has a 360 degree swivel stand. 😛

I don't think the SS has usb ports, but that isn't too big a deal imo.

2nd thought... no one buy it because it is way overpriced. (Hoping for a sale)

Anyone know how big the screen is compared to a 20.1" LCD and other widescreens of its size, is it bigger then normal since its listed as a 21"?
