Hi all,

I need your input on these two LCD fast. The 10% off deal from CompUSA ends today. :) The 2 competitors are Samsung 21" 213T and Tatung 23" HDTV LCD TV. I will connect the LCD to my PC. I occasionally play CS but most of the time doing simulation/analysis.

Link for Samsung 213T: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=304044&pfp=Jan18Sale
Link for Tatung: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2462499&sourceid=02245262022790761094

Samsung is $1066 AR and tax
Tatung is $1248 plus tax

Samsung 213T has 25ms and while Tatung has 16ms response time which makes it look better theoratically speaking. Please share you suggestion/opinion and I will make up my mind before 3pm this afternoon. Thank you!!

But with 16ms, wouldn't it also be suitable to play games on it since there is still some ghosting in 213T?

Id go with the Samsung 21" monitor since it is set at 1600x1200. The Tatung is at 1280x768, plus its a TV, which in my experience will end up with blurry text, and less detail, unless you play a movie, which is really what they are made for.

If you play games you have to make sure that you will get decent frame rates at 1600x1200 resolution, and you will get quite a bit of gosting on CS just about any time you look side to side in a quick motion or run, or walk, Okay basically anytime you are not standing still. The Tatung might get 16ms compared to 21ms but it only does 60hz refresh which will give you wicked headaches.

Actaully I would find a good CRT :).

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm running P4 2.4Ghz, 512MB, audigy 2 with 9700np. It should, or I hope, is sufficient enough. 213T, here I come. :)

Side question, can anyone recommend any cheap video card (as long as it's better than GeForce2) that has DVI output? Need that for my bro's computer. The 9600XT @ CompUSA is an attractive deal for me after the coupon and rebate, around $140 for an ass-kicking card.

I would also get the 213t. As far as a refresh rate of 60 goes, it basically doens't matter for LCDs. Its quite abit different then CRTs. I switched my refresh from 60 to 70 (highest my 192t goes) and didn't even notice a difference. LCDs just don't flicker.
