Samsung 204b for $299 at Bestbuy.
Viewsonic VX2025WM $309 at Circuitcity.

1600x1200 vs. 1680x1050
Samsung 5millisecond viewsonice 8 millisecond

Both are great monitors, but I see no reason to get the widescreen when the Samsung is cheaper. The 80 extra pixels of width on the viewsonice just don't seem worth the loss of height. I can live with blackline on the top and bottom when I watch movies, and I don't need the built in speakers. Also, the 204b has the nifty tilt feature, although lord knows if I'd ever use it.

Anything I am missing? Any reason to get the viewsonic?

I'd get the Viewsonic just because it's WS.
If you can live without WS then get the Samsung, but the future of games (and movies) is WS. You get a wider FOV, etc.... (google)

Ask anyone here and most will say if your getting a new monitor, a WS is the one to get.

I noticed the WS slant of people on here, but I just don't seem the logic at the same price. UGH

I do like the look of the Samsung, nice basic black, nothing fancy. Plus 2 of them would look really nice side by side.

i just got the 204b, not a single dead pixel, the viewing angles are a little weak but nothing that bothers me especially since i look straight at the monitor and if i want to watch something on my bed the swivel is reall nice. adjusts everyway possible smoothly. noghosting whatsoever in game.
