What's your take on these? I have one in this build, and it's only six months old. I'm starting to see data disappear and spyware & virus checks show no problem. The drive 'looks' healthy when I test with HD tune. Windows7 is also taking forever to boot & shut down, and yesterday the startup routine told me it wanted to check the HD for consistency. It found and fixed a bunch of errors - hundreds of them.

Yet here's a benchmark from this morning:

HD Tune: SAMSUNG HE103UJ Benchmark

Transfer Rate Minimum : 28.5 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Maximum : 114.9 MB/sec
Transfer Rate Average : 91.2 MB/sec
Access Time : 13.7 ms
Burst Rate : 152.6 MB/sec
CPU Usage : -1.0%

Any and all brands of HDD can and will fail.

You should run some HDD diagnostics on it, not a performance benchmark.

Thanks Zap man, I am working on that. It's about 3/4 done with the error scan in HD tune.

Don't forget, it can also be RAM issues, and or CPUs (that are too o/c'ed) problems.

Do you have write caching or the sub-option for advanced performance enabled? I have no idea if these may be a problem or not. I have 2 of these drives but do not have these options enabled ... no UPSD:
