Samsung 193p work in DOS?

I'm considering buying a Samsung 193p LCD monitor while NewEgg has a $200 rebate on it. This monitor does not have any buttons to adjust brightness, position etc. All adjustments are made through MagicTune software, which only works in Windows.

I have a dual-boot system and sometimes I boot directly to DOS 6.22, which poses a couple of questions:

1. Will a Samsung 193p work in DOS 6.22 via a DVI connection?

2. Is there any workaround to adjust brightness and position in DOS?

i think the 193p is a plug and play type of monitor, meaning it would still be able to work in DOS except i don't think you would be able to adjust the brightness. IIRC, the position and many other settings-excluding brightness- is adjusted auto when plugged via DVI

Well, that's mostly good news! I was afraid that DVI might not be supported in DOS if Windows was not running, as would be the case if I boot directly to DOS 6.22. Position is more critical than brightness, so if that is auto-adjusted, that would be great.

I wonder if Brightness setttings made through MagicTune in Windows are retained in the monitor or in a configuration file that needs to be accessed every time Windows starts up. If they're retained in the monitor, I may not have a problem after all.

I might have to find a local retailer that stocks the 193p and who will let me return it with no restocking fee if it doesn't work out. But that's not so easy these days <g>.
