I have a Samsung 191T and a Hercules (ATI) All In Wonder 9000 Pro video card but I cannot get the monitor to work in the DVI mode. I am running Win XP Pro and have installed the latest drivers for the monitor and videocard. The screen display goes black, or blank, when XP starts to boot windows.
[FYI, but perhaps not relevant, the video card only has a DVI-I double link connector and comes with a DVI to analog VGA dongle that converts the analog side of the DVI-I connector to a standard 15-pin connector. The monitor has two connectors, a single link DVI-D (digital only) and a 15 pin High density D-Type (analog only). I am using the DVI-D single link cable to that came with the monitor to connect to the video card.]
This problem is not limited to my particular monitor or to my video card. See, for example, the trail of misery at http://www.tweaknews.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=312&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0.
Does anyone over here have this problem, or bettter, yet, know of an explanation, or even better yet, of a solution?
