I was in Best Buy the other day and saw an AlienWare computer with a 191T monitor. I played some Jedi Knight II on it and was AMAZED at how well the monitor worked (I had used LCD's before, but could actually notice the lag due to responce time, but not on this one).

Does anyone have this monitor? Does it work well in all games? Thanks

And also, if anyone knows of a good LCD for gaming the falls in this price range, (around 600 bucks or lower), feel free to make a recomendation.

Thanks

Was on the news thingie a couple a days ago that samsungs releasing the 192T. Said had a better than 25ms response. I would guess around 20ms response time.
The hitachi 174's are under $600 and are pretty good for a gaming LCD.

Interesting. I'll take a look at the hitachi.

As a general rule, how fast of a response time should one look for in a good gaming LCD? I've always used CRT's and just "woke up" to these LCD's once I actually saw one that looked and worked pretty darn sweet for games.

16 milliseconds or better for gaming to prevent Ghosting.
I just bought the Hitachi CML175B
It has a 16 miiisecond response time and 400 contrast
Will post how it is after I get it, hopefully by Tuesday.

Excellent billyjak.

I have been trying to do a lot of research on this, but not many sites review a ton of monitors.

Most reviews are something like, "It looks neat, It rocks" and that's really about it.

I found Tom's reviews of LCD's very Informative and right now the NEC and Hitachi screens with 16ms responce time look good.

However, I would be purchasing an LCD to replace my 19 inch CRT's and I don't want to lose screen size... I wish there was a 19 inch screen with a 16ms responce time.
