not a fair comparison.

Samsung has TV tuner and remote and plenty of A/V connections.

Better to see how much Dell is selling the Samsung for then that would be fair.

And rethink your statement. Having a TV tuner and those connections makes the price of the LCD go up quite a bit, so like Threader said, you can't compare your purchase to this one... it's like comparing a regular audio receiver to a THX certified reciever... it'll give you audio but so much more (DTS decoding, etc.)

Pretty decent deal though, IMO.

Dude, what sort of drugs are you on?! This is WAY too much to pay for a 19" SVGA monitor. Get a grip!

I have all that stuff separately and they don't add up to $687.

not everyone likes to have all these components separate. most people like the "all in one box" design. that's why apple's iMac has sold so well, and will continue to appeal to lots of people

Yes it's too much for a monitor but this happens to be a stereo HDTV that can ALSO be used as a monitor.
FWIW, I got the 17" model this spring for my wife and spend more time watching tv on it than on my big screen. The price is good, however LCD TV prices are starting to drop.

This is a very good deal my bro was looking for this exact item for his bedroom. this way he doesn't need to have a TV and a monitor. thanks for the post.
