Use Staples to PM this monitor and then use $30 of $150. That is a better deal if you must have it though I have this monitor and would not recommend it. It is fine for multimedia but awful for text, far far away from Trinitrons.

i think text looks just fine, however it has other problems... i bought mine from office depot a month ago. the first one was alot brighter around the edges than in the middle and had horrible curvature at the top of the screen with no geometry control to fix it. i returned it for a new one; the brightness problem is almost nonexistant on this one, however the curvature is still there... this time its much better (probably a fraction of a degree), but it can be very annoying at times.

IMO, i would spend the extra money for a better monitor if at all possible.

Ive had one of these for about a year now. It's ok. Good picture, gets a little pixelated near the edges, and the geometry is impossible to get perfect. Don't think I'd buy another. But any flat 19" for $185 w/ free freight is a good deal. And, as always, Newegg rocks.

I've had mine for about 1 year now...and yes, the geometry is impossible to get right, but other than that, it's been a solid monitor

oh and getting for $108 from staples (PM, AC, AR, free ship, no tax) 1 year ago is certainly a sweet deal.

I've had bad luck with my 955DF also. The text was too fuzzy on my first one. Sent it back under warranty. The replacement had better text but contrast was too light and I could not adjust it. I gave up on it. The 955DF and 753DF were really hot a year ago. Lot's of people bought them and thought they were great. I think quality control has gone down hill lately and/or they are using cheaper/low quality parts.

I've been using this monitor for 4 monthes now and
have had no problems. Everyting is crisp out to the
edges. Just luck of the draw I guess.

Has anyone had any success with PMing to Staples?

I have the 17 inch version of the monitor. I'v been using it for about a year and its fine but its not as good as a trinitron.

Bought mine over a year ago for a bit over $100 from Staples. There were many complaints about this monitor. I did notice most of the complaints came from those manufactured in Mexico. Then, some complaints on those made in China. Luckily, mine was made in Korea, home of Samsung. I have no brightness, fuzzy text, or geometry problems at. Compared to my Sony Trinitron 19" monitor at work, visual quality comes in at a very very close second. But for the price I paid, it ranks #1 overall in my books. Do scrutinize your monitor if you get one made in Mexico or China. QA from those countries have not improved at all it seems.

So I'm hearing that the 19" Trinitron monitor is the way to go... anybody here have problems with that model?
