$479.97 - $70 Instant Savings - $30 MIR

Valid 5-27 thru 5-29-2004

I try to click on the link at CompUSA website for the rebate but it does not come up. I would like to know if this rebate if valid on purchases made at other locations because I am weary of CompUSA's return policy.

"An open box fee equal to 15% of the purchase price will be charged on any opened item, unless the item is defective and exchanged for the exact same item (fee not applicable in Hawaii). The 15% open box fee will be assessed at the time of refund or exchange."

Does anyone know if CompUSA considers dead or stuck pixels to qualify the item as a defective item (or if they have a certain number to qualify)?

I would prefer to price match this at another store but am not sure if the rebate would work.

Thoughts?

The rebate form linked on CompUSA's site indicates that the rebate is only valid for a CompUSA purchase.

I've read but not confirmed that CompUSA will only consider an LCD monitor defective if it has more than six (6) dead or stuck pixels.

I just got an Acer AL1715 from pagecomputers for 387 shipped. Much better LCD than this Sansung. It has a 20ms Hydis panel, best rated for gaming. Pagecomputers is the fastest store I've seen. I got mine 18hrs after ordering it.
