I've been looking for a good laptop case. I think that for college, I am going to get the Jansport backpack with the really nice padded laptop holder. I was told that a person would be less likely to steal a backpack than an obvious laptop bag. Regardless, I'm never leaving anything unattended.

I picked up this bag last summer and i love it!

Its great if your only carrying around your laptop, power, and a few other things. If you stick too many things in the front pocket it bulges out alot, but all in all a great sturdy bag.

Hmm... I think I am going to pick this up for my Dell Inspiron 600m. Usually I like to handle the case before I buy it, but for $23 shipped, and Buy.com usually has stuff to my door next day, I'll give it a shot.

More info from Samsonite's site is HERE.

Not to be rude but was there a point to that story, and the likelihood of something getting stole has to deal with A. if you are at a low class school with low class people and B. if you are forgetful or just plain stupid with your stuff.

lol, I love it that when you say class people automatically think of wealth or the look of people and get upset, I was referring to the integrity of the people at your school, I went to a school where I have a can leave my laptop, wallet and cell phone on a table go to the bathroom and it will be there when I come back, I?ve had several friends loose things and have then returned by individuals with integrity. My knowledge of human nature is a little more in-depth than a two sentence comment will lend you to believe. Just my opinion.

...same reasons I opted for the backpack style. Also, because it can hold more DVDs and is better for the back on long trips.

And I wouldn't leave my laptop backpack alone in church, let alone at a place where everyone wants a laptop...

You have an extreme case of a dumb@ss. Grow a brain and get a clue. Where you go to school has nothing to do with the integrity of the students. Some of biggest thieves (corporate CEO's at Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, etc.) are prime examples of individuals that attended good schools and exhibited zero integrity as the screwed their employees, shareholders, and other individuals out of millions. You should think before you speak.
