I have all the components needed for my next machine. I am confused like many others regarding the motherboard for purchase. Currently, I am looking at the KT7A Raid, A7v133, and the Kt7 Turbo (cheapest prices). I am not sure if the reason for the Turbo slow speed is due to the bios. Also, would you recommend the 200mhz bus athlons or the 266 bus? I am trying to find the best price for performance, thanks for all your time.

For price/performance, I woudl stick with a 200 mHz Athlon. As for the board, I'v e heard of some minor problems with all 3. Are you planning on o/cing? The MSI is most picky to o/cing but not it any means impossible to o/c What MHz range of processor are you lookin at too?

Thanks for your reply, I was looking at the 1 ghz to 1.2 ghz thunderbird since the price is about $50. Would you have a huge increase with the 266 bus then the 100bus? Thanks again

I've had great luck with the EP-8KTA series of MoBos. Newegg.com has the EP-8KTA3 (KT133A) for $117 shipped.
Remember, you should expect to have to tweak a newly built system to get the optimum stability and performance for the specific set of hardware components you have put together. This is what every manufacturer has to do in thier R&D labs prior to comming out with a new model. Sometimes you have to try different combinations of drivers and BIOS versions to get the ones that work with your combination of hardware. This is all part of DIY.

I prefer the A7V133, it doesnt really have any issues, and its the top performer.
