Got a nice combo deal at Fry's (hiss) ecs K7s5a and an xp2000+ for $99.
Go through a ton of uggg trying to get to it to just work with memory, cpu, and video. I changed out with 3 sticks of ram, two vid cards (agp and pci), cleared cmos. The thing powers up and the fans turn, but no image.
After going here (http://pub65.ezboard.com/bk7s5amotherboardforum) i realize that just about everything that could go wrong with a mb has happened in this one. Oh the misprinted manuel is quite fun!
So i reset up my trusty 733intel/asus, with just cpu, memory and video too make sure, but i get the same problem, no sound, no video. For some reason i plug in the floppy, HD, cd-r, dvd. And then it works!
Was i having the same problem with the AMD setup? I vaugly remember someone mentioning in the forum that you may want to plug in a drive or something?
But now the HS has been removed from the CPU and the gunk is partily off. Can i still put the HS back on? and not fry?
