How does sandybridge compare to nehalem thermally speaking. I would imagine that since SB is 95 watt and nehalem is 125 watt, the same heatsink on both setups would be better on sandybridge, right?

You'll get better temps with your 2600k and cooler vs 920. I can't remember what my 2600k runs at but you'll be happy to see much lower temps and how easy these things overclock compared to pulling your hair out to get a 920 to 4ghz

Ya, I figured as much.

I switched to the 2600k last week and was debating on either buying the 1155 retention mech. for my TRUE 120 for $15 or getting a venomous x or something similar for around $75.

I'm currently using a corsair A70 as I had it sitting in my parts tool box along with an H50. I've alwyas have been fond of the TRUE for some reason. I found that it actually outperforms the H50 in extreme circumstances and I like that it once was the pinnacle heatsink while the h50 has always been a "value" based solution.

Why did you stop at 4.3?

I have had no problems pulling much higher than that. I can understand if you were going with the mentality of "why beat it if you don't have to"

I have a crappy board. Needs insane amounts of voltage to get past 4.3v. Guy I bought it from got it for basically nothing with the 2600k combo at microcenter. He even told me it was not that great of a board. I really can't complain since he sold me the 2600k and board for 300 shipped a couple months ago. I can make do with 4.3ghz. If I had a better board I'd probably only go to 4.5 or so anyways.

Cheap is good. I can pretty much do 4.3 on stock volts. It's hard to say what is stock volts though because I haven't found a "real" way to tell VID for sandybridge.
