How important is it to buy the same brand of DDR3?
I have 8G and 2 more slots.
I doubt I'll be able to buy the same RAM later.

It actually doesnt matter on the second dual channel pair.

And the 2 sets will run at the lowest determinator. So if 2 sticks are DDR3 1066 10-10-10 and the other DDR3 1600 9-9-9. it will all run 1066 10-10-10.

Make sure its all same voltage tho. And 1.5V is the standard. 1.6 or 1.65 aint.

It doesn't matter much; I'm running 16GB total with two sticks from Mushkin, one Corsair, and one Patriot. All are the same speed, same voltage, and roughly the same timings (which I tweaked manually so all the RAM timings match).
