I'm currently listening to my music collection from my workstation via my newly-configured Linux server, which is running Ubuntu (and Samba, of course).

If I'm using my Linux server for one purpose (file and print serving), why does it matter which distro I use? Every single desktop Linux distro does this task perfectly and easily. FYI, I'm using Windows XP on my workstation. To me, the distro flavor is irrelevant.
